About Atlas & Chalk

Atlas & Chalk was created as a final project (the Global Education Guide) to showcase the learning and experiences that occurred as part of the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms program.  Highlighting both the course content and the field experience, Atlas & Chalk is a curation of resources, lessons, and personal blogs that promote global competence through education.

It quickly became evident that the Global Education Guide could become more than just a final project.  There exists the need, especially in Nebraska and the rest of the Midwest, to advocate for the comprehensive teaching and use of global competence throughout our education system. All ages, content areas, learning environments, outlooks, and stakeholders benefit when the foundation of instruction is the skills of global competency.  The goal of Atlas & Chalk is not only to provide resources related to global competency but to become an active advocate for its implementation in school systems big and small throughout the Midwest one classroom at a time.
